REPEAT PRESCRIPTION /REFERRALS
THIS SERVICE IS
ONLY AVAILABLE FOR PREMIER HEALTH PARTNERS PATIENTS AND WHERE THE ORIGINAL
SCRIPT/REFERRAL WAS PROVIDED BY ONE OF OUR GPS AND THE PATIENT HAS BEEN SEEN BY
A GP AT THE CLINIC WITHIN THE PAST 3 – 6 MONTHS.
Doctors require 48 hours notice to
process a repeat prescription request.
2. If you require the script sooner, please make
appointment with a Doctor.
The fee for a repeat prescription is $19.00.
There are a number of clinical and administrative steps required for a repeat
prescription. The fee is in recognition of this and is not refundable.
A repeat prescription request does
not guarantee that a script will be written for you.
All requests are considered by a
Doctor and a decision is then made as to whether this repeat request is
appropriate for your health care needs.
After consideration of your request
one of our staff will contact you to advise -
A. If YES - we are able to provide
the repeat prescription, you will be contacted and arrangements made for
collecting the script.
B. If NO - we are unable to provide
the repeat prescription and organise an appointment for you.
Repeat prescriptions for
antidepressants and anti-anxiety medication will not be provided using this

Premier Health Partners are health providers in the private sector, bound by the National Privacy Principles. As part of our commitment to providing quality health care, it is necessary for us to maintain files pertaining to your health. The files contain the following type of information: Personal details, medical history, notes from previous consultations, referrals, and results. The information held about you is provided by you or arises as a consequence of consultation. Your medical file is handled with the utmost respect for your privacy. The file will be accessed by your medical professional and, when necessary, another professional in the absence of your usual medical practitioner. Our administrative staff may have to handle your file from time to time for administrative requirements. All staff our bound by strict confidentiality requirements and it is condition of their employment that they are bound by these. We will not release any or part of your history to a third party without your written consent. However, we advise that there may be occasions where we will be required to release the details of your file irrespective of gaining your written consent. This will occur where the law requires a disclosure, such as pursuant to a subpoena. We advise that as a patient of this medical clinic you have the right to access any of the information we hold concerning you.
Payment is required at time of consultation. We offer EFTPOS and credit card facilities. Unfortunately we do not accept American Express or Diners cards. HICAPS is available for allied health services, with on the spot rebates. Medicare rebates are also available for GP services, through on line claiming.
Receptionists: Maree, Jenny & Carly are professional and dedicated to making your health and well-being a top priority. Please address any compliments, or complaints to Maree, our Practice Manager.
General Practitioners: Dr Margaret McDowell is a highly respected and very experienced General Practitioner. Dr McDowell consults Mondays and Wednesdays, and Thursday morning. Dr Alan Underwood is also consulting, and is available every afternoon, with later appointments on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Dr Jane Habib specialises in Women's Health. She is available on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
Osteopaths: Dr Paul O’Keefe – Paul graduated from Victoria University. He has worked overseas, and has been an Osteopath in the North Melbourne area for the last 7 years. Paul has special interests in sports injuries and prevention. Dr Maddi Traeger – Madeline is committed to ensuring her patients are pain free and able to return to the activities they enjoy. Maddi has a particular interest in Osteopathy for bubs.
Physiotherapist: Quoc Ho is available Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday mornings. Quoc has 10 years experience and his aim is to return you to your daily life pain free.
Massage Therapist, Eileen Schwindt-Cornejo is available to help restore your body to return to normal health by the use of remedial massage
Dental Prosthetist: Sam Robertson consults for all your denture and mouth guard needs. He also consults at St. Albans.
Speech Pathology: Services are available on Saturdays with Speech Ease (http://www.speechease.com.au/)
DOREVITCH: Dorevitch Pathology are now on site Monday & Wednesday mornings 8.30 – 11.30 am for your convenience.
Consultations are by appointment only. We would appreciate 24 hours notice if you are not able to keep your appointment. This allows other patients on our waiting lists to be seen. Please be prompt to your appointments so that you are able to have the maximum time with your practitioner. We understand your time is important to you, and where possible we like to be on time. However, there are times where this is not possible and we appreciate your understanding. Should there be a lengthy delay we will endeavour to contact you prior to your visit. GENERAL PRACTITIONER HOME VISITS
The Home Visiting Doctor can be used when this office is closed. This service will dispatch a doctor to your home. This is an after hours service only, and should not be used instead of your regular doctor. The number is 9429 5677.
Patients with private Health Cover can access the 24 hour
Emergency Department at the Epworth Hospital on (03) 9426 6324, or the Cabrini
Health Emergency Department on (03) 9508 1500.
Please note that out of pocket fees will apply.
In the case of an
EMERGENCY, patients should dial 000 for an ambulance or call their local public
hospital casualty department.
Maria Hussey is our Practice Nurse. She is available to do Home Health Assessments for patients over 75 years of age. She also is available to complete a cycle of care for patients who suffer Asthma and Diabetes. Please ask at Reception to speak to Maria, or arrange a time for a Home Visit.

Doctors and Health Professionals at this centre can be contacted by telephone. If they are consulting a message will be taken and passed on at the end of the session. Of course in case of an emergency, calls will be dealt with immediately.
